“Thank you for a really lovely holiday”
“Very good experience from start to finish. Easy to book, with Tim, the owner, answering questions and responding promptly. The apartment is directly on the seafront and has access to the wonderful beaches, bars and restaurants that Calpe has to offer. The apartment was perfect for my family and was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to make your holiday enjoyable and easy. The apartment is furnished to a high standard and includes aircon which is beneficial during high season. It also has use of the garage, if you have a hire car, which was is a real bonus as you don’t have to worry about locating a parking spot if you go out for the day. This apartment also has use of a beautiful, very clean, swimming pool and sunbathing area. Elise, who manages the apartment in Calpe was great to deal with. She met us upon arrival and took the time to help familiarise us with the apartment, We left a couple of items at the apartment upon leaving and she was extremely helpful in getting these items returned to us. In summary, we will definitely be booking again next year!”

“Fantastic stay at the Rubino!”
“Our family of 6 had a fantastic stay at the Rubino Ap 5A. We arrived in early August and were met outside of the Rubino complex by Elize. We were given a tour of the apartment. Our first thoughts were that it was very spacious and the decor was lovely and very modern. We had a great time and found that whatever we needed, we had. Half way through our two week stay, we rented a car and Elize brought the garage key which was very helpful. We locked our self out once and the situation was handled really quickly and easily. Overall we had an amazing stay and would recommend. The apartment was also in a ideal location right in the middle of Calpe. We were surrounded by gorgeous beaches and oceans. Every window you look out of in the apartment has a spectacular view.”

“A great family holiday at Rubino Calpe”
“The apartment was bright & modern with good room for our family of 5. It was very comfortable, we slept well despite the August heat due to good air conditioning. The balcony was great to use and had a perfect view down the beach towards the old town.
We enjoyed pool days, there’s plenty of space around the good sized pool and the view of the harbour with the rock towering above and out to sea was always engaging.
Rubino is situated in the middle of 2 long beaches each with an interesting promenade so walking out for beach days and meals in the evening was easy.”

“Great apartment with fantastic balcony views.”
“Contacted Tim from the property details when he answered all the relevant questions we had with payments and deposit sent off.
We had been to Calpe on day trips in the past and liked the vibe- busy but not over busy. We met up with Elize at the apartment – at the time agreed where she gave us the usual introduction – extensive info is in the apartment folder.
The Apartment is of a high standard and we enjoyed a comfortable stay over the 7 days with no negatives to report. The position is first class, we had walked past the apartment on our day trips in the past and could not believe our luck, that we were now staying in such a great front line location in Calpe. The pool area is alongside the coastal path on the walk from the Old town to the rock/Penon. It was great to be by the pool during the day whilst also enjoying a sea view.
The pool area was most relaxing with sufficient sunbeds for our group of four everyday – who were not early rises.
The World cup was on at the time of our stay and we were well looked after at Mutsys sports bar across the road- All the staff and locals made us most welcome. The Razo restaurant is also very close to the apartment where we enjoyed a couple of very good meals. On other evenings we either walked into the Old town or down to the Port. Many restaurants are listed in the apartment info folder.
The seating in the lounge was comfortable and the TV included UK channels, which was a bonus following our experience at some apartments who only have BBC world service, if you are lucky.
The balcony with great outdoor furniture is a fantastic spot to have a cool drink ( ours was a G & T ) whilst watching life go by over the sea and on the Calpe beaches.
The two bedrooms are well furnished with sufficient wardrobe space and the bathroom scenario with one en-suite and one separate was ideal for four adults.
Overall, I would highly recommend this property and we will certainly book again in the future.
Following our stay we had contact from Tim who checked we had a good stay and returned the deposit in full, via a Bank transfer.
It is always a concern when you book a property direct first time, I would have no qualms in booking with Tim.
Thanks for your great service and our stay at your top class property.”

“Having visited Calpe for over 20 years now we are always sceptical about any new accommodation we stay in… however on this occasion we were all delighted. The apartment is ideally located just 5 minutes from the harbour and a 10 minute walk from the Old Town, so close enough to everything but far enough away to escape the crowds.
The apartment was lovely , clean and provided all that we needed on our stay.
The pool area was fantastic with a good sized pool, sun beds galore and plenty of room to relax and generally quiet.
We will definitely be staying here again.”

Calpe Review (September 2016)
“Excellent comfortable beachfront apartment & pool.
The 5 th floor apartment had beautiful views from each room with a first class swimming pool. The lift was quick and the apartment airy. The rooms had modern decor and were very clean and tidy with comfortable beds in each bedroom. A settee in the family room / lounge had a fold out bed. The balcony was larger than many in the building making the apartment roomy with glass enclosures that we did not need to use as the weather was fine during our stay. The kitchen is small but adequate with a sink drainer and rack for dishes. A clothes washing machine situated in a balcony attached to the kitchen enables easy laundry. A clothes maiden makes drying laundry easy. The swimming pool is impressive as it is like new with 3 pools providing a delightful recreation area. Tim was great to deal with and our security deposit was returned promptly with no issues.. Highly recommend this property.”

Excellent !
We had an amazing holiday in Calpe and our stay at the Rubino was excellent from start to finish! Every room was clean and tidy, very spacious, beautiful views from all windows and the beach was 2 mins away from the apartment. The location is ideal as you are situated near the stunning Penon de Ifach rock, with the Old Town 15 mins walk in one direction along the seafront and the New Town 10 mins walk in the other direction so you are never far away from all of the major Calpe attractions. There is a small enclaved beach which you can reach in just a few hundred yards which is ideal for young children and also Calpe is a 20 mins drive away from some amazing water and theme parks, including Mundomar, Terra Natura and Aqua Natura which I would suggest is a must for anyone with children, you can very good discount tickets from their websites.
I would highly recommend a stay here if you want a quieter family holiday or a relaxing break.”

Everything perfect. We loved the apartment. The rooms are spacious. The decor is modern and simple. With enough space for 6 people. They leave you in bed linen and bath towels. The pool is very nice and very well maintained. The location of the apartment may not be better, both sides of the beach are. On the one hand you Sunrise facing the rock and on the other you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner watching the promenade and the beach until the end. Sincerely, spectacular.
I hope that we can get back to the coming year..”

This is a super apartment with a high standard of furnishing and equipment. It was spotlessly clean on arrival. The pool area was immaculate and well maintained. We were a family of five and had everything we needed and more. With three teenagers they certainly appreciated the media equipment and wifi. The location is ideal – straight on to the beach – gorgeous views from the spacious balcony – and a pleasant walk to the centre along the promenade.
The owner was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and answered any questions promptly. The welcome and support during our stay were also faultless.
This was our first visit to the Costa Brava so hired a car to explore the area. We went along the coast roads and inland up to algar waterfalls and surrounding area. It was also very useful for the supermarket run. We spent a lot of time snorkelling at the beach just outside the apartment and at the small pebble beach at the back of the harbour. The beaches were clean and safe and had a good range of activities if required.
Calpe has an excellent choice of restaurants and cafes. We used some of the ones recommended in the guide in the apartment – Rusticana, Everest, Steak House. We found the prices very reasonable and the standard good.
Overall we had a super holiday and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to family and friends.”

“Lovely holiday, Aug 30th 2013
We stayed for 2 weeks (2 adults & 2 children aged 4 & 7) and had an excellent holiday. The apartment is 10 mins walk to the marina, 10 mins to Levante beach and 20 mins into thd main shops and restaurants by the Arenal beach. There is a small beach about 2 mins walk as well which doesn’t get busy and us perfect for snorkelling. The pool is clean and a really good size. Small shallow pool for little ones and other pool is divided in half – both different depths which is perfect. Plenty if sunbeds – never had to worry about not getting a sunbed. The apartment itself is a really good size and had everything we needed. Twin beds for our girls with their own window and view of the Penon was great. The master bedroom has a small ensuite which was really handy having a second toilet. Although we didn’t use the shower as used the one in the main bathroom. The mattress in the master bedroom was pretty awful (springs poking through) as we’re the pillows but the owner has indicated replacing after hearing our feedback which is very positive. The lounge, kitchen and balcony are all perfectly formed – kitchen had all the utensils we needed. It was really useful having a washing machine too. We had one hiccup with the hot water bit we made a quick phone call to Frances and it was sorted straight away.
Parking in the basement garage was easy and very convenient. After 2 weeks the toilets needed a hood clean so would’ve been handy to have some bleach in the cupboards we could just put down there every now and then. We were allowed access to the apartment early and to leave late which really did help – thank you. All in all this apartment is really very good and we would certainly consider returning next time.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Rubino apartment. The location is excellent just a short walk from a number of small beaches and only a little further if you want the big beaches of Arenal Bol or La Fossa. The port of Calpe is just a few minutes’ walk and the old town only a 15 minutes’ stroll along the promenade.
The apartment itself is well equipped and comfortable with lovely views from the balcony straight along the promenade towards the old town and from the bedroom windows views are of the Calpe rock. The apartment was clean and we were met by Francis on arrival who showed us where everything was and how they all worked. Being there for 2 weeks it would have been nice to have the bed linen and towels changed at the end of week one but there is a washing machine so you can do your own.”

The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. There are beautiful sea views from both aspects and, positioned as it is halfway between Calpe old town and the fishing harbour, most local attractions, restaurants, etc. are within easy walking distance along the promenade which runs directly past the front of the building. The balcony catches the afternoon sun and comfortable furniture makes it a relaxing and peaceful place to sit out. The useful glass curtains can be set up to give shelter from any unwanted breeze. We stayed for four weeks in the excellent apartment at 5a Rubino. Very well situated first line on the promenade between the port and the arenal beach which extends up to the town. Wonderful views from the sun lounge straight along this beach with the mountains at Maryvilla providing a lovely backdrop. From the bedrooms the view is towards the port and the awesome Penyon for which the town is famous. For the energetic the walk to the top provides a wondrous view of the surrounding area. Well worth the effort if physically able. The apartment is tastefully furnished and provides a comfortable stay for your holiday. The hot/cold air heating system ensures a comfortable temperature at all times. To the front of the building there is an attractive pool area and adequate parking in the street at the rear.
There is an abundance of restaurants close at hand all providing good meals at reasonable cost. . A visit to the old town is well worth the effort and especially enjoy the english run Patio del Fuente for first class food. Calpe is a lovely town and to my view the best seaside on the Costa Blanca.quot;

The service from Tim ( the owner ) and Francis ( the apartment manager ) was excellent. The apartment was clean, well furnished and well laid out, so you could take advantage of the glass enclosed balcony to relax in the evening, well I did, while my wife could still watch Coronation Street on the free-sat television.
Excellent location mid way between the two beaches, the old town and the port but just asa good to relax by the well maintain pool area with it’s plenty of sun beds and sun shades. A good place to chill out and read a book ( or two ). Picture post cards views in all directions, quiet in the day but plenty of restaurants to visit at night and no late night noise.
Beware of a strong breeze on some days it can be deceptive and like me you will get burnt if not careful.
I would recommend Tim’s apartment to anybody”

Apart from the first week when we had stormy weather for 3/4 days, we mostly had bright sunny days and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Calpe and the surrounding area. The apartment was excellent. Rubino is situated in what is probably the best location in Calpe and opens directly on to the paved promenade within easy walking distance of the Old Town, the harbour and the various lovely beaches. 5A is beautifully furnished in modern style and has fantastic views of the sea and mountains from the lounge and the glass-curtained balcony. The apartment is well appointed and ideal for both young and old alike, we spent a week there with our 23 year old son and future daughter in law and it was suitable for all of us. ” We enjoyed a two week holiday at the Rubino in Calpe from the 10th June 2011 and had a really wonderful time. The apartment is finished to a contemporary standard and is a great ‘adult’ place but it also works with families – we had two small children (3 and 1 year old) and they absolutely loved it. A cot, high chair and buggy were provided which really reduced the amount of stuff we had to take on the plane. The apartment was very safe for the children – the balcony had fantastic sea views and the high walls and option to pull glass partitions across meant we were never worried about the little ones playing on the balcony.
The really great thing about the location of the apartment is that you have the option of three pools in the apartment complex (a deep one, a medium depth one and a small shallow baby pool) and the beach / sea is just the other side of a path – a short walk in both directions (either towards the old town or towards the marina) takes you to various different beaches and they are all really lovely.
Our friends who used the apartment in the past hired a car but we didn’t – everything we needed was in walking distance and we found a Lidl store within about a 10 minute walk so we were able to get cheaper groceries than in the smaller local shops which could be quite expensive.
There were plenty of options for eating and we had some great meals out.
Half way through the holiday at midnight we were unexpectedly treated to a midnight firework extravaganza – we heard them, woke up, went on the balcony and enjoyed the most amazing display from the comfort of the apartment.
The weather was brilliant and we enjoyed 2 weeks of great sunshine – hot but not unbearable for the children with only 1 or two cloudy days, one of which there was a very brief rain shower.
We had a n time and thoroughly recommend it”

plan each day so that you don’t miss it, and I highly recommend hiring a car
to take full advantage of the surrounding area, whether it’s shopping or
sightseeing. The facilities in the apartment are top notch, providing
hotel-style comfort. We spent a week in Calpe at Tim and Anna’s apartment
and came back fully refreshed and longing to go back – which we will! Thank
you so much!”

“Hi Tim, just got back from our holiday in Calpe. We had a really nice time staying at your apartment. Loved the views of the rock from the bedrooms and loved the view over the beach from the balcony. Your manager, Francis, met us and helped us to settle. The apartment was comfortable, in a prime position within the resort and well laid out. Calpe itself was bigger than we thought, we cant say enough good things about the place. The security setup at the Rubino gave us piece of mind. The apartment block and the grounds were also very well maintained We would not hesitate to recommend your apartment to friends & have taken a couple of your information cards for future reference,”

We have just returned from our (mid July) week at the Rubino, and have loved every minute. It was very hot all week, so we made the most of the pool in the afternoons and the local restaurants of an evening! Our evening strolls along the promenade were much enjoyed by all.
Everything went well with the apartment and everything was there that we needed. I was particularly relieved to find the hairdryer and the spare UK adaptor (though we also brought three with us!). Much appreciated also were the playing cards and the dvd player – Spanish tv is not good at all!
We would definitely come back again and would recommend it to others.
Many thanks.

We can highly recommend Tim & Anna’s apartment to you. We have been there twice and had a great time. The first time we went with other couple and we found the apartment totally acceptable for two couples and one child to be there. We found it clean and full of all the things you would need i.e. bottle opener and corkscrew. The pool area is great and ideal for young children as there is a separate kid’s pool. The apartment is situated in an ideal area as there are shops & restaurants in walking distance and the beach is just outside the door of the apartment.
On both occasions we had a quality holiday and would look to go again.

“We found Calpe to be a beautiful holiday destination, and the Rubino a beautiful apartment from which to enjoy Calpe and surrounding areas. The apartment was the perfect size for our family of 4, and offered us everything we wanted a clean and tidy apartment, with stunning views, easy access to the beach and town with family friendly walks. The pools on site were perfect for our boys one learning to swim and the other toddling around in the baby pool. The extra provision of under ground parking / garage and elevator were fantastic and enabled us to transport our family and baggage easily from car to apartment throughout the holiday. I would highly recommend the area, and especially the rubino apartment as a brilliant beach side holiday destination.” Hope the above is kind of what you are looking for…. I think I should go into writing travel books????

The apartment is ideally situated, close to all amenities and the picturesque working harbour, yet far enough away from the main part of town to be quiet. The apartment itself is ideal for families or two couples sharing, having two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen and spacious living area. There is also a large balcony ideal for watching the stunning sunsets. There are sea views all around and the nearest beach is a two minute walk. The town itself is a very pleasant 10 -15 minute walk along the beach front promenade (ideal for early morning or early evening runs) and provides all sorts of shops and restaurants to round of the holiday experience. My wife and I visited in October and enjoyed 10 glorious days of sunshine and came back looking forward to our next Visit. Highly recommended.

My husband and myself stayed in Tim and Anna’s apartment at the Rubino for 2 weeks in May 2009. Our daughter and her husband joined us for the second week. The apartment was plently big enough for the four of us, with each couple having their own bathroom. It was very clean comfortable and spacious.
The balcony was large with stunning views and patio furniture for 6 people.
The kitchen was very well equipped. We entertained 10 people for lunch on 2 occasions easily.
The bedrooms were comfortable with large beds and ample storage in the built in wardrobes. Ceiling fans in bedrooms and living area were a bonus and very quiet on a low speed.
The apartment balcony gets the sun in the late afternoon/early evening and can be very powerful.(Best time to dry the washing)
There are many restaurants in walking distance. Prices ranged from 38.00 euro for a 3 course chinese meal for 4 with wine, to one of our favourites Por Que No which is a Dutch restaurant in the old town serving fantastic food at about 30-40 euro per person (starter and main course). Another favourite is Patio de la Fuente in the old town, run by English people.Set menu 20 euros per person 3 course. Not open every night, try the lamb it is wonderful.
The pool area at the apartments is clean and well maintained. The pool is not heated but that was a blessing as the temperature was 27 most days.
I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment as it is perfectly placed to be near beach/restaurants but just far enough away from the main town area to be peaceful enough to enjoy the sunset from the balcony.
